New Designs!

I’ve added two new designs to my store. Great for band/brand usage such as album covers or merchandise – but once purchased, you retain exclusive rights so use your imagination!

Colors can be edited and logo/text placement is included if needed. Hit my shop for more info and to make one or both of these yours!

Movember

Hey, folks. Been a while. I apologize. School and life and shit have been taxing what “free” time I have for things like updating this website. I apologize.

Sliding through with some news, though…

My beard has been my safety blanket, so to speak, for the last 5 or 6 years – especially the last 2ish years with pandemic weight and depression setting in heavily. This is a pretty gotdamn vulnerable Decker right here.

I’m partaking in Movember for Men’s Health. Those I know and consider my contemporaries are all getting older, many of us have settled into “middle age” legitimately. It’s time to start taking better care of ourselves and each other.

Movember is a legit charity with good ratings. I’ve set a goal of $500 to raise this Movember and hope that those with mental health issues, especially, consider donating and also seeking help if the struggle is particularly difficult.

I encourage others to get involved, too. You don’t have to shave it all off. You can donate, host an event, grow your first beard or moustache, and more.

Hit the website to donate and get involved.

MPLSART Sketchbook Project 2021

I’m taking part in this years MPLSART Sketchbook Project 2021. Very honored to be included in this unique project by artists in my area. From the project website:

“The MPLSART Sketchbook Project was launched in Fall 2020 as a way to connect artists in the Twin Cities and give them a much needed financial boost. 69 artists contributed 120 pages of artwork to five traveling sketchbooks. The sketchbooks were collected into a limited edition hardcover book funded through a successful kickstarter. Additionally, the five original sketchbooks became a part of the permenant collection of the Minnesota Museum of American Art. All net-proceeds were distributed to the 69 artists to the tune of $350 each. Learn more about the 2020 Sketchbook project.”

“2021 continues to have many of same challenges as last year and the need that the 2020 project filled is still with us. To continue to support artists this year, we’re launching the 2021 Sketchbook Project. Participating artists will contribute up to two pages to one of five sketchbooks and then hand the sketchbook off to the next artist in line. In Spring 2022, we will auction off the sketchbooks and produce a collected book. All profits, after expenses, will be divided among the participating artists.”

Over 30 artists across 5 sketchbooks, travelling around the Minneapolis area from artist to artist, each leaving their own unique mark. Such a really cool thing to see as a work in progress, to be able to add to, and to see what the final outcome looks like.

Look for the hashtags #mplsartSketchbookProject and #mplsSketchbookProject2021 across your social medias for other artists sharing their works in their respective books and for more information.

I’ll be sure to post here big news regarding the project and my work, as well.

Open For Commission!

Summer session of school is complete and I have about a month before I start fall semester, so I am officially open and available for commission work – get in touch if you’re after a logo, merch design, or other artwork!

Back To School

Howdy friends, fans, family, and foes!

I just wanted to make a public post addressing things at HQ. I have enrolled in college and will be taking summer session classes. Not only that, I’m taking a few more credits than is considered full time during summer session. Needless to say, I’m going to be pretty busy.

I will be working on previous agreements while addressing my school work, of course. And I may potentially still be open for commissions during summer session if the project and timeline are right – so don’t hesitate to reach out and inquire if you’re looking to get some work done by yours truly.

I have started an unattached blog that may or may not be an interesting read as I navigate these college waters in my middle aged years, read along if you like here.

If you don’t hear from me between now and the end of July, I’ll see you on the other side of summer session!

Photo Op!

I leveled up on my pocket computer a while back and it has cutting edge, state of the art, industry leading photographic capabilities. As such, you know I had to play around with it. And, truth be told, the reason I picked it up was due to its capabilities.

I’ve always thought it would be fun to get into photography but never thought I’d find myself in a position to get all that fancy camera gear. And while camera phones these days are not anywhere near the level of the right gear in the right hands of the right professional, they do lend themselves to experimenting with the medium in earnest a whole lot more. And so here I am.

As such, I’ve begun collecting some photographs I’ve taken in their own portfolio here on the good ole website. I might make a Flickr account or dabble in other photography communities when I stumble upon “my voice”, but for now I hope you dig what I’ve been toying around with in that realm.

More Recent Additions!

A bunch of new stuff has been added to the website! I uploaded over 50 more images to the Drawings and Paintings galleries, featuring some work of mine I had thought was long lost and forgotten – some of it dating all the way back to 1990! I hope that you’ll enjoy taking another look through the galleries if you’ve already visited this site.

Additionally, three new products have been added to the shop. The Pride Bubblyskull Keychain, the Make More Mixtapes Sticker, and the JDecker 2021 Spring Sticker Pack+ collection. The latter being a great deal if you’re interested in picking up some of my stuff, as you save a total of $6 compared to if you bought everything included on its own – and one of the items cannot even be purchased on its own!

Recent Additions

I’ve added a couple of new sticker designs to the shop! The most recent version of the iconic Grindthieves lionstar graphic logo and the 8bit Bassface graphic pulled from a classic Grindthieves live event advert. Both are full color, die cut, thick vinyl stickers suitable for slapping up anywhere and on anything, go swoop some up!

In keeping with the theme surrounding Grindthieves, I’ve added a link to the Grindthieves blog to this here fine website, find it in the menu to the left. I don’t update the blog as often as I did in its heyday but I will still be throwing up reviews and information there as time and interest allow. If you like weirdo art, music, film, games, and more – please be sure to check it out. It too, of course, now links back here.

Hello!

Welcome to the new and improved Jdecker.net! I have entirely overhauled the website and streamlined the entire experience for a much more robust and smooth visit, I hope that you dig it.

Of special note is the integration of the ecommerce store directly through the website itself. It can manage payments, orders, inventory, products, notifications and more all right here on the website. Don’t worry, your sensitive information is encrypted and I’ll never see it. Additionally, your personal information is safe with me – I’ll never sell it or use it to spam you with messages or advertisements.

I’ve got a number of new products up that I’ve teased on various social media platforms as they’ve arrived at my doorstep, as well as the first volume of my book and a one of a kind canvas print. I still have a few more products coming in the mail over the next few days. I will announce them here and elsewhere as soon as they’re available. I’m really excited about this whole thing! One of a kind drawings, paintings and limited edition prints and such things will also be listed first here on the website as they become available, so be sure to bookmark and check back frequently.

Thanks for everyone’s support over the years, and recently. The support I got for the experiment that is the first volume of my logo book was truly amazing – I had absolutely no idea there would be so much interest in it and I can’t thank you all enough!

Here’s to new and bigger and better things, cheers!
