On the heels of a few original productions and what some have called my opus, “Lof-fidelity, Hi-incredibility”, this one continues along the same trajectory. More or less. Dabbling in lofi hip hop, lofi house, plunderphonics, ambient, noise, and other leftfield soundstyles, “𝙼𝚄𝚉𝙰𝚇” is less of an emotional string puller like it’s predecessor, and more of an exorcising of demons. It is both confrontational and casual and will likely take the uninitiated several listens to truly enjoy the nuance and subtleties employed within.
Like “Lo-fidelity, Hi-incredibility”, “𝙼𝚄𝚉𝙰𝚇” is meant to be a sort of story. A soundtrack for a film not yet made or the music to which one might read an accompanying book not yet written. It is coffee shops and public transit. It is elevators and hallways. It is early mornings and late evenings. It is solo adventures and crowded spaces. It is loss and hope. It is losing and finding ones mind.
As a project, this is a DJ mix of varied tunes from across the spectrums of lofi hip hop, lofi house, vaporwave, chill hop, ambient, noise, etc which was then edited digitally. I sourced my own vocal samples from a wide variety of places and also added some ambient tones, melodies, and fx.
This will see a VERY limited cassette run of 10 copies on Maxell c-120 cassettes with the program repeating on side B, hand dubbed one to one and hand decorated with home printed jcard and all hand assembled by yours truly.
